The Father's Love for Jesus
By daniel | November 2, 2005
This morning I read John 17, where Jesus prays for His disciples (including us). One thing jumped out at me. At the very end of the prayer, Jesus sums up everything by asking that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them. Similar, though different from the opening of the prayer for the disciples, asking that they be one.
What Jesus wants for me and you, is to have the love of God inside of us. We've seen this love in Jesus, and the way He cares for us now, and the way he laid down His life in the gospels. We see this love in the saints, and their care for both us and the world, and they also lay down their lives.
May we have this love. May I, may you.
