The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
By daniel | January 3, 2006
So I went to go see The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe yesterday. Five word review is, this is a great movie. It's probably no secret, but the Chronicles of Narnia carry a profound parable for the history of mankind, the fall, the redemption, and the making new of all things, intended by God.
I cried a few times during the movie, so I was kindof glad I watched it by myself (though the theatre was packed, suprisingly, at a 2pm matinee). A few times, I was really impressed with the feel that the movie gave incredible points. Certainly analogies break down at a point, and this is no exception, but several spots were beautiful, in my humble opinion. Here's the parts I really thought were well depicted:
- The Betrayal of Mankind for a "treat"
- The Quote by the King, Don't Tell Me About the Old Magic, I Was There When It Was Written
- The Humiliation of the Redeemer and Evil Enjoying the Redeemer's Sacrifice
- The Crowning of Mankind and Their Responsibility to Creation
