Only Two Responses

By daniel | February 6, 2006

Sunday morning, we discussed that there are only two possible responses to the understood Word of God.  You can either reject the message or receive it.

Rejecting the Word of God (be it Scripture, Spirit, or from the body) is to decide to hold on to my own persuasions, choosing to believe a lie.  This rejection is an act of pride, and is a choosing of oneself over and above God.  Who knows where these lies originated, but that is a concern for a later time.

To receive the Word is to humbly decide to forget what I thought to the contrary and embrace the new truth I have been presented with, also embracing any actions and changes that this new revelation requires in my life.  The embrace can be painful, and that's fine, too.
