Resurrection People
By daniel | April 12, 2006
We are the people who believe in the resurrection of the dead. Because Jesus rose again, we know that we also will live, though we die. This is central to everything we put our faith and hope into. So reflect with me for a moment: in light of your impending physical death, and the resurrection to an unending life that follows, do your concerns today carry the same weight as they have so far? Here's some excerpts from I Corinthians 15:
Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.
If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.
But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.
Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
