Peru 2006: Trip to Puica
By daniel | August 1, 2006
well, we have had an eventful couple days here. first everyone except julie and i went on a trip on friday. they went to a town called puyca. they had an evening service there. the brother who has been working in that villiage had only been going for a month and a half, and there were over 50 poeple in the meeting. he was very thrilled and encouraged. they spent the night there. the next day they went to suni and the boys worked on the church builñding that is still in a very early building stage. then they had ameeting later that night. there were 3 families and the leading brother of that villiage shared his past. alberto, one of the brothers who lives with the shaws also shared. they came backl late that night and the trip wore them out. many sit in the back of the truck on a long trip and got car sick. the roads aren{t exactly roads here. julie and i went to the youth meeting friday night. sunday was another relax day. most of us went to the morning service where virgil and adam tag teamed a passage in colosians 1. sunday{s lunch was amazing!!! gina made an enchilada casserole. it was sooooo good. at night we went to the night srvice and adam and virgil continued with colosians 1 and prayed for the church here in cotahuasi. today we were supossed to go to huillac where the boys had previously worked on the local church building. we got the shaws for breakfast and found out that we were not going to be able to go because the familymembers of thew family that sold us the ground had destroyed 1-2 of he building. theyclaim that 1-2 still belongs to them even though they have been shut dopwn legally 3x. we found out that some elderly ladies in the family had payed some younger pople to do it. the brother needless to say are very discouraged in that villiage. this isalso where several of the children from the home have gone to for tier vacations. brad and fredy went down to take the police who really cant do anything. the plans are togo back on wednesday and continue building. please pray for this. the leader of the problems is a very drunk man who has trieed to stir up much trouble. the most important thing is for the local brothers to get encouragement. more to come later. keep us in your prayers.
